COMMITTEES Culture Montréal is a cultural network composed of hundreds of people —artists, cultural workers, and citizens— who share Culture Montréal’s vision.
The committees are working groups composed of members of the organization to whom the board of directors has given the task of developing an analysis, points of view and recommendations that contribute to Culture Montréal’s platform, policy statements and action plan. Since Culture Montréal’s action plan is largely linked to the expansion of the Ville de Montréal, the organization’s actions are related to the wider political, economical and social contexts. With this in mind, the theme committees are encouraged to channel their reflections according to the cultural and political issues at stake in the city.

Rencontre du Comité Grands projets et aménagement du territoire, Lac des Castors, juin 2006 Culture Montréal trouve une grande part de sa réflexion et de sa cohésion dans l'action de ses comités. Nous vous faisons régulièrement état des activités de ces derniers dans notre lettre d'information. En 2007-2008, chaque comité, arrivé à un stade précis de son existence, a eu des défis particuliers à relever. Certains en sont à l'état embryonnaire; certains en sont à l'ébauche de plans d'action qui leur permettront d'affirmer leur présence et de structurer leur travail ; tandis que d'autres sont engagés à plein régime dans la concertation et la représentation active. plan d'action très original.
