Présentation à la journée Parti pris pour la relève artistique montréalaise Le jeudi 17 mai 2007, le Comité Relève et Pratiques émergentes a participé à la journée Parti pris pour la relève artistique montréalaise organisé par le CQRHC dans le cadre du projet Outiller la relève artistique montréalaise. Table ronde : Le Comité sur la Relève et les Pratiques émergentes de Culture Montréal organise une prochaine table ronde autour du thème des infrastructures et des lieux de création et de diffusion, c’est-à-dire les lieux et les équipements essentiels au travail des créateurs, producteurs et diffuseurs. Cette activité, la troisième de ce bouillant comité, se déroulera à la Bibliothèque nationale et archives du Québec, au 475, boul. de Maisonneuve Est, salle M-455, métro Berri, le lundi 27 novembre, de 13h à 17 h. La préparation de cette table ronde innove encore cette fois-ci : pas de cahier ni de papier, mais beaucoup d’informations et de communications électroniques en circulation: l’inscription se fait par courriel auprès de Karine Landry, chargée de projets à Culture Montréal, à l’adresse karine.landry@culturemontreal.ca. Un questionnaire est déposé à la section du Comité Relève et Pratiques émergentes. Il suffit de copier ces questions et d’y ajouter vos réponses dans un message électronique et de les retourner par courriel à Karine Landry à l’adresse indiquée ci-dessus. Le Comité Relève et Pratiques émergentes a à son actif une entente précieuse et substantielle avec le Forum Jeunesse par le biais de son programme «Outiller la relève ». Il s'est par ailleurs doté d'un plan d’action très original. Sous la présidence de la jeune designer Marie-Claude Parenteau-Lebeuf, assistée de Karine Landry, coordonnatrice de projets à la permanence de Culture Montréal, le Comité Relève et Pratiques émergentes est composé des membres suivants: Elisa Belhache - Outiller la relève artistique montréalaise
Les tables rondes du Comité Relève et Pratiques Émergentes Le 5 juin 2006 avait lieu la deuxième table ronde du Comité Relève et Pratiques émergentes, au Studio 303. Le thème :
Les activités du Comité Relève et Pratiques Émergentes dont les tables rondes, sont des lieux d'échanges dynamiques et constructifs permettant de sonder les artistes de la relève et des pratiques émergentes sur leur vie professionnelle. Ces ateliers requérant la participation active des artistes de diverses disciplines amènent les participants à examiner leur situation sous plusieurs angles. Le but ultime : améliorer les conditions de pratiques artistiques au moyen de solutions communes.

second round table for the June 5, 2006 - Last Monday, 22 young artists from the music, visual arts, crafts, theatre, dance and multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary sectors participated in the second round table organized by Culture Montréal’s Emerging Artists and Practices Committee. The topic under discussion was relations with the associations. Asked to express their views on four variables—access to associations, services offered, articles of association, and associative activities—the participants first noted that they all suffered from a lack of information on the many existing associations and their specificities. They felt that the associations (often in the same discipline) should work more closely together to facilitate access to them by emerging artists, for example through a reduction to the high cumulative cost of annual membership fees. The participants then agreed on the pertinence of linking the associations’ services to the needs of emerging artists, both individuals and companies. As for associative activities, the participants stressed that emerging artists should be invited to participate very early on, which would allow more direct access to information. A third and final round table will be held in the fall on the topic of access to infrastructures. It will allow the committee to conclude its reflections on these issues and prepare recommendations to the relevant bodies and associations. Round tables on emerging artists and practices April 13, 2006 - Over the past year, Culture Montréal gave voice to emerging artists and practices through its committee of the same name. Formed of artists and cultural workers, the committee, in collaboration with the Forum Jeunesse de l’Île de Montréal, is studying the relation between emerging artists and those working in emerging practices and the Montréal arts community at large. The Committee is organizing three round tables, to be held in April, May, and June, to examine the existing policies and structures in the arts and culture sector and stimulate discussion on access to financing (April 24), access to infrastructures (May 15) and relations with professional associations (June 5). Seats are limited, so those interested in taking part in the discussions at the round tables are asked to sign up with karine.landry@culturemontreal.ca. Next fall, the Emerging Artists and Practices Committee will share the findings and demands of the round-table participants with representatives of certain professional associations. Culture Montréal has a bright future! An Emerging Artists and Practices Committee is set up March 18, 2005 - Following the resolution adopted by members of Culture Montréal during the Annual Meeting on March 18, the Board of Directors has established an Emerging Artists and Practices Committee. Marie-Claude Parenteau-Lebeuf has been named chair of the committee. It will serve as a space to represent emerging culture and to value the concerns of up-and-coming artists. The committee intends to encompass new disciplines and diverse cultures. In the near future, it plans to collaborate with the Forum Jeunesse de l’île de Montréal and to invite the members of Culture Montréal to a public meeting. The establishment of a new committee also represents a call for an injection of new blood into our organization.
